ItineraryDay 1 - Depart Houston to Guatemala City, ground transport to Antigua, Guatemala. Relax and enjoy the tranquility. Overnight in Antigua.
Day 2 - Morning Mass, Colonial ruins, Monasteries and Churches. Enjoy local food, textiles, and culture. Optional trip to San Juan Obispo, famous for it's Mayan chocolate and níspero wine, and named for the first Bishop of Central America in 1534. Overnight in Antigua. Day 3 - Morning Mass. Tour various colonial ruins, Monasteries and Churches. Optional trip to the beautiful black sand beaches of Monterrico, Guatemala and release baby sea turtles.
Day 4 - Morning Mass, Colonial ruins, Monasteries and Churches, local food, textiles, culture. Optional trip to the breathtaking Lake Atitlan. Travel by boat to Santiago Atitlan, where Blessed Stanley Rother was martyred. Overnight in Antigua. |
Day 5 - Morning Mass, Colonial ruins, Monasteries and Churches, local food, textiles, culture. Optional trip to climb Pacaya, an active Volcano either by horseback or by foot. Overnight in Antigua.
Day 6 - Morning Mass. Grand Procession and festivities for the 5th Sunday of Lent. Ground transport to Guatemala City. Depart Guatemala City for Houston. |
